GAME DAY RECAP: October 3, 2026

King’s Edgehill School (7) (CCM)vs Fort Erie International Academy (4) East

King’s Edgehill School snapped Fort Erie’s three-game winning streak Saturday, riding a dominant four-goal performance from captain Grady Betts (4G) to a 7-4 win at home. KES jumped out of the gate in a hurry, with Eeli Salminen (1G) opening the scoring and Betts adding two of his own, including one in the game’s final seconds of the first, around a Hudson Bursey (1G) tally to put the home side up 4-0 before the opening intermission was even over. Betts struck again early in the second to make it five, but Fort Erie’s Daniil Khmelkov (2G, 1A), who entered the game with on elite scoring pace, answered twice in quick succession to cut into the deficit. Dylan MacAvoy (1G, 2A) restored KES’s four-goal cushion before the break, and Xavier Couturier (1G) got Fort Erie within three heading to the third. Victor Yuzgulec (1G) pulled the visitors closer still in the third, but Betts capped his monster night with a fourth goal to seal it for good.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (2) Women’s U18 Prep

Delta Hockey Academy Black snapped Northern Alberta Xtreme’s winning streak Saturday, grinding out a tight 2-1 win despite NAX riding a hot hand and a stingy penalty kill all afternoon. Claire Cheyne (1G, 1A) opened the scoring on the power play late in the first, and NAX answered in the second when Sabrina Di Fonzo (1G) struck shorthanded to tie things up, set up by Kinsley Peacock (1A). Neveah Brankovic (1G) restored Delta’s lead less than four and a half minutes later, with Jojo Mailhot (2A) and Cheyne combining on the helper, and from there neither side could find the net through a scoreless third. Things got heated late, but Delta’s defense held firm. Melina Bezic made 18 saves for the win, while Ayla Whitney kept NAX within reach all game, stopping 28 of 30 in the loss.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4/OT) U15

Brixtin Cenaiko went scoreless in his first game of the season against the Northern Alberta Xtreme, but has scored in every game he’s played since, continuing that record with a goal and an assist in the first period. CIHA ended up leading 3-0 through two periods of play, but come the third period, RINK Winnipeg’s opportunities coming from their Special teams units proved enough to pull them back into the game. Jackson Ross (2G) and Jacob McDonald scored consecutive powerplay goals with Ross scoring again shorthanded, all in the span of three minutes and ten seconds in the third period. Winnipeg held off Calgary for long enough to force the game into overtime. Jordan Hallock popped up in the extra frame, scoring his first-ever CSSHL goal just shy of the halfway mark of overtime to give RINK Winnipeg a victory in a game that saw them trailing 3-0 halfway through the third period.

Selwyn House School (5) vs Bishop’s College School (6/SO) East

Selwyn House School and Bishop’s College School delivered one of the more dramatic Eastern division games of the weekend, with BCS eventually prevailing 6-5 in a shootout after the teams traded leads throughout the final two periods. Dean Nicolopoulos (1G, 1A) opened the scoring for Selwyn at 8:40 of the first, but Marc-Antoine Larochelle answered less than three minutes later to send the teams into the intermission tied 1-1. Selwyn then exploded out of the gate in the second, with Davide Gargano scoring shorthanded just 58 seconds into the period before Aadi Patel (2G, 1A) added another 36 seconds later to make it 3-1. Bishop’s responded with Gavin Hartman’s (2G) goal at 2:58, but Marcus Montpetit (1G, 1A) restored Selwyn’s two-goal advantage midway through the frame. The back-and-forth continued, with Kellan Sullivan cutting the deficit to one late in the second before BCS tied the game 10:40 into the third through Seth Peach (1G, 1A). Patel struck again less than four minutes later to put Selwyn back ahead, but Hartman answered just 24 seconds later to force overtime. Neither team could find a winner in the extra frame, sending the game to a shootout, where Peach converted the decisive attempt to give Bishop’s College School the 6-5 victory. Evan Un Yi made 27 saves on 32 shots for Selwyn, while Jayden Perron stopped 16 of 21 for BCS.

Notre Dame Hounds (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (13) U15

The Notre Dame Hounds and Northern Alberta Xtreme played twelve and a half scoreless minutes to start their U15 clash Saturday, before Nathan Molzan scored to give the Hounds an early lead. Notre Dame led for 43 seconds, then Myer Hipkins (2G) tied it for NAX. The game stayed tied for 65 seconds, then Jaxson Loblick scored to give NAX the lead. That was as close as the game would be, and NAX ran away with it from there. Four goals in about four minutes early in the second period gave NAX a cushion, with Northern Alberta grabbing four points each from Owen Bresden (1G, 3A) and Yukon Kim (1G, 3A) along with three points each from Dominic Squires (1G, 2A), Sebastian Morgan (2G, 1A), and Alexander Chan (1G, 2A) en route to a double-digit win.

Lower Canada College (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (4) East

Lower Canada College and Okanagan Hockey Ontario traded leads throughout a back-and-forth Eastern division matchup on Saturday, with LCC finding the decisive goal midway through the third period to secure a 5-4 win. With the score knotted at three through two, Gianluca Gatto put Lower Canada back ahead early in the final frame, only for Mikelis Kreicbergs to respond for Okanagan to make it a 4-4 game. With the contest hanging in the balance, Giordani Gino (3G) scored to complete his hat-trick, a goal that would stand as the eventual game-winner at 10:28. Lower Canada outshot Okanagan 40-25 in the win, while Evan Comout stopped 21 of 25 shots to pick up the victory for LCC.

Okanagan Hockey Ontario (3) vs Stanstead College (5) East

Stanstead College jumped out to an early four-goal lead and then had to weather a determined Okanagan Hockey Ontario push, ultimately holding on for a 5-3 win on Saturday. Kieran O’Brien opened the scoring 3:37 into the game to start Stanstead’s offensive output, with Matus Hornak (2G, 2A) scoring twice to help his team to the 4-0 lead. Okanagan Hockey Ontario finally found its breakthrough late in the frame, with Sebastian Di Foglio and Luke Lang (2G) scoring 38 seconds apart to bring OHO back within two heading into the third. Lang added his second of the game early in the final period, cutting the deficit to 4-3, but Stanstead responded with an insurance goal from Joshua Seeback to put the game out of reach. Stanstead goaltender Benjamin Corke made 35 saves on 38 shots to secure the win, while Okanagan netminder Knox McBride stopped 45 of the 50 shots he faced.

Edge School (4/SO) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (3) Women’s U18 Prep

Following a scoreless first, Kyla Pappas would strike first for Edge School. Emma Biros (1G, 1A) would quickly respond for Delta Green, nabbing one on the powerplay. However, on a powerplay of their own Mika Higgins would restore Edge’s lead. Meghan Thompson would add a cushion for Edge early in the third on another powerplay marker. Adie Schneider would get Delta Green back to within one with another goal on the man advantage and Samera Gabriel would eventually tie things up with a late third period marker. After overtime solved nothing, a shootout going to four rounds would find our winner. Higgins would strike again, firing one top left to secure the shootout win for Edge School.

St. George’s School (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (9) U17 Prep

Delta’s offensive rampage continues in the U17 Prep division as they pot another nine goals to secure a comfortable win over St. George’s School. Carson Brown (2G, 2A) and Mazen Green (1G, 3A) would lead the way with four point outings. Brown now sits atop of the U17 Prep division in scoring with 17 points through a small sample size of four games. Defenseman Josh Racic (2G, 1A) would score a pair of his own from the blueline as well. Jace Zemanek (37/38) would make 37 stops in the win, only being beat by Saints forward Theo Wesik in the third period.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (9) U17 Prep

Juma Kinchen (2G, 3A), Axton Kohut-Hunt (2G) and Hank Henderson (2G, 1A) would all score a pair of goals in a nine goal outing over Pilot Mound. Liam Nycholat (1G, 3A) and Adam Loeffer (3A) would take charge in the playmaking department, supplying three assists each. Edin Korajac (1G, 1A) and Max Faulker would score the Buffaloe’s lone pair of goals in the loss.

Bourget College (CCM) (4/SO) vs Bishop’s College School (CCM) (3) East

Ilia Ignatev would strike early for Bishop’s, scoring a mere 39-seconds into the first period for the early lead. However, Bourget College would show some retaliation. Ludovic Roberge evened things up late in the first period while Grayden Bath and Mathieu Passerini (1G, 1A) added two goals in the middle frame to establish a 3-1 lead heading into the third. Bourget was hanging on for the greater half of the period but the unrelenting offense from Bishop’s would result in a late pair of goals off the sticks of Dominic Schnarr and Mavrik Legault. The resulting overtime did not find our winner, forcing things to a shootout. Only a single save was made in the shootout, and that save went to Bourget’s Jakob Cyr (36/39) in the second round. All of Bourget’s shooters would find the twine with Christophe Potvin’s being the difference maker.

Notre Dame Hounds (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (13) U15 Prep

NAX came out on top in convincing fashion in their skirmish with Notre Dame. Only a pair of NAX skaters left the game without a point. Yukon Kim (1G, 3A) and Owen Bresden (1G, 3A) led the way in scoring with four points a piece while Sebastian Morgan (2G, 1A) and Myer Hipkins (2G) each potted a pair. Nathan Molzan would score the lone goal for the Hounds.

Rothesay Netherwood School (CCM) (1) vs Ontario Hockey Academy (CCM) (6) East

Bodan McFadden was able to open the scoring for RNS on an early powerplay opportunity, but following the opening goal it was all OHA. Drayton Gunner and Dmitri Titovski (2G) were able to hand OHA the lead through the first period. OHA would build on that lead scoring another four unanswered through the next forty minutes of play. Goaltender Roman Bakhusov would play a vital role in OHA’s victory, making 47-saves in this contest, going a perfect 31/31 through the final two periods.

Mount Academy (CCM) (4) vs CHE Academy (CCM) (1) East

Georgi Pashukhin set the tone for Mount early, scoring 33-seconds into play for the initial advantage. Frank McCafferty and Benoit Pouliot (2G) would build on this lead with another pair before the end of the first. Rylan O’Mahony would get one back for CHE prior to the first ice clean. CHE would muster another 24 shots throughout the rest of this contest but were unable to find another answer for Philippe Levac (35/36). Pouliot would add some extra cushioning in the third as Mount claims their first win of the season.

OHA Edmonton (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (6) Women’s U18 Prep

The first period of play between OHA Edmonton and RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna could have killed RINK dead in the water. Okanagan Hockey Academy Edmonton scored the first goal of the game through Mercedes Dunbar, had a huge powerplay chance pass them by, and then grabbed a highlight-reel goal from Ryann Chimera to take a 2-1 lead out of a first period that saw them outshoot their opponents 14-9. The second period, though, turned the tide of the game, and RINK Kelowna proved too clinical for OHA Edmonton. Three goals in less than nine minutes to start the second period turned the game around, with Rebecca Macfarlane, Kasey McKenna, and Ava McDermid all hitting the back of the net for Kelowna. Ava Hrubeniuk (2G) scored his second of the game in a third period that saw Kelowna extend their lead further, eventually besting OHA Edmonton 6-2.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (0) Red Women’s U18 Prep

The first half of Saturday’s game between Calgary International Hockey Academy and RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna Red was a stalemate, with both teams successfully keeping the other out in the defensive zone. Molly Crockett (2G), who has been superb to start the season, broke through in the second to give her team the lead. Her teammate, Talysa Mah, scored 32 seconds after Crockett’s goal, to quickly double down CIHA’s lead and put Kelowna on the ropes through two periods. CIHA goaltender Brooklyn Raczynski was the less busy of the two goaltenders but was still asked to make 16 saves on 16 shots for the shutout victory.

Edge School (10) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep

Edge School’s U18 Prep team hit the ice for the first time in the 2026-2027 season with the appearance of a team in midseason form already. Edge peppered the opposition net with 31 shots in the first period alone, scoring five times, two from Brady Luttmerding (2G, 1A). The game going on wouldn’t provide PMHA any reprieve, with 78 Edge School shots hitting the opposition’s net. Luttmerding’s two goals and three points were added to by two goals and four points apiece from Luka Samu and Charlie Tobin further twisting the knife. Ultimately, Delano Pockar stopped 28 of 29 for Edge School, with the team in Burgundy putting ten past their opposition in a 10-1 win to start their U18 Prep campaign.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (4) U15 Prep

Half of South Alberta Hockey Academy and Calgary International Hockey Academy’s U15 Prep game on Saturday lay dormant, but if anybody shut things off in the second expecting a scoreless and stagnant end to the game, they’d have been wrong. Mick Mantrop (1G, 1A) had his opener followed by Carter Clark doubling the lead on a penalty shot 59 seconds later. Rhett Davis (1G, 1A) scored again for Calgary 63 seconds following Clark’s penalty shot, giving CIHA a 3-0 lead that SAHA would ultimately be unsuccessful in erasing. Lucas Beaudin (1G, 1A) scored amongst SAHA’s third-period push for CIHA, ensuring their cushion in what ended as a 4-2 win.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (0) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (4) U17

Prairie Hockey Academy’s U17 team won 6-0 in their opening game against ISA and looked to emulate that performance and result on Saturday against the Northern Alberta Xtreme. In service of that goal, Prairie did the requisite damage early. Rhett Benaschak and Dallin Mitchell scored nine seconds apart to quickly establish a two-goal lead for Prairie, with Tony King scoring less than two and a half minutes after that to make it 3-0 PHA in the first period. Bryce Scrupps added a shorthanded goal in the second for Prairie, but with PHA put under siege, they needed goaltender Cameron Rusyniak to provide the heroics. Rusyniak stopped all 40 shots he faced in the game, helping Prairie to a 4-0 win.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (9) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (0) U18 Prep

It took Coeur d’Alene less than 100 seconds to score the first goal of the game against the Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy in the U18 Prep division on Saturday, a moment that sent them on a trajectory that saw them run away with the game. After a relatively evenly matched first period, CDA outshot Wenatchee 24-3 in the second and 21-2 in the third period, adding to their 2-0 lead through one with four in the second and three in the third. Carson White-Sibley scored two and CDA got three points each from Kirill Zhikharev (1G, 2A) and Matej Bydzovsky (1G, 2A), with Theo McBridge making 12 saves in the 9-0 win.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (4) U17 Prep

The second of back-to-back matchups between the Northern Alberta Xtreme and South Alberta Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep squad on Saturday looked a significantly closer clash than we saw on Friday on the scoreboard, but ultimately, SAHA’s damage was done early enough to feel comfortable in the lead. Kyan Vansandt (2G) added to his hat-trick yesterday with two in the first, including one 59 seconds in to get things started, to help SAHA take a 3-0 out a first period that saw them outshoot NAX 19-1. Northern Alberta didn’t stop the effort, and eventually did break through with an Ashton Root goal, but couldn’t get any closer than that. SAHA maintained the three-goal lead they held at the first intermission, eventually winning 4-1 in a game that saw them outshoot their opponents 49-11.

Stanstead College (CCM) (4/SO) vs Ulysse Academie (CCM) (3) East

Ulysse Academie controlled the play in the first period and were rewarded with two powerplay goals off the sticks of Timothe M’Voula and Sidney Chartrand. Eloi Lagasse would bury a third for Ulysse in the second, giving them a 3-0 lead through forty. However, Stanstead would kick things into high gear for the third, throwing an intense 25 shots on target. Shane-Alexandre Dube would get the Spartans on the board just 23-seconds into the frame then Elliot Bibeau-Rivard would cut the deficit to one under a minute later. In the final five minutes of play, Vincent Chevrier would crash home a loose puck on the powerplay to ultimately tie this one up at 3-3. After a nailbiting overtime, a shootout was eventually needed. Last up to bat was Maveric Thisdelle (2A) and he would roof one past the glove of the goaltender, capping off the 3-0 comeback for Stanstead. Ulysse goaltender Alessandro Do Monte played an astounding game despite the loss, racking up 66 saves through 65 minutes of play.

Prairie Hockey Academy (0) vs OHA Edmonton (19) U15 Prep

OHA Edmonton’s offense lit the lamp for 19 goals on Saturday. Marek Fetter (5G) led the charge with a five-goal outing while Kingston Ireland (2G, 2A), Atticus Armstrong (2G) and Gannon Smith (2G, 3A) each recorded a pair. Deacon Gillespie (1G, 4A) and Ben Labossiere (4A) each recorded four helpers from the blueline.

Delta Hockey Academy (6) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep

Coen Hlady would open the scoring in PCHA’s U18 Prep home opener off a hardnosed play. It seemed as if the Sea Devils would take their 1-0 lead into the intermission but recently signed Moose Jaw Warriors prospect Brady Oatman (1G, 2A) would slide one through for Delta, tying things up at 1-1. Eli Vickers would then open the scoring in the second with a wicked wrist shot from the left circle. Peter Banicevic (2G) would later add another in the second, improving Delta’s lead to two goals. Ronan Gow and Banicevic would cash in on another two goals early in the third. Mannix Bingham and Daniel Makovetskiy would pick up a late pair for the Sea Devils but the lead was to much to overcome. Quinn Coupland would make 49-saves in the Delta victory.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U18 Prep

Kayton Reinders opened NAX U18 Prep’s season with a beauty down the right wing, going far side for their first of the season. Declan Cardiff would equalize things for Calgary IHA later in the first with a slick penalty shot. However, just 15-seconds later Caden Leibel would label one for the bottom right corner after receiving a sweet stretch feed from Taye Schaufele. In the second, Samuel Simmonds would bury the lone goal off a strong solo effort. Lincoln Eaves would extend NAX’s lead with one that barely crossed the line to make their lead 4-1. Calgary IHA would show some push back later in the third but would come one shy of the win. Dawson Sheehan (19/22) was credited with the win in net for NAX.

CIH Academy (0) vs Ontario Hockey Academy (3) East

Tobias Manek’s strong push down the left wing led to OHA’s opening goal, finding Richard Sedlak in front for the up close one-timer. Scoring would pause in the second but come back in the third after Luke Vokey wired home his second of the season. Benjamin Polasek would add some extra insurance later in the frame off a clean up play in front. Dawson Brewer would come up with the shutout, collecting 25 saves in the process.

North Shore Warriors (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (10) U17

RHA Kelowna would take this one with some fashion points. Declan Smith (3G) would start things off with a natural hat-trick that included a shorthanded goal as the cherry on top. Nixon Bahr and Kyle Schierling connected on a no look play that may find itself in next week’s Top 10. The same can be said for Joel McMillan (30/32) who made a ten-bell save earlier in the game. Oliver Peck would put a bow on this one with a strong solo effort to cap off RHA Kelowna’s 10th goal. Jaxon Ferguson and Aiden Cunningham would supply the goals for North Shore in the loss.

Fort Erie International Academy (CCM) (4/SO) vs Kuper Academy (3) East

In potentially one of the craziest games of the weekend, FEIA would take home the glory in the shootout. Kuper would open the scoring in the first but FEIA would strike back with a quick pair in the second. Gavyn Thomas would bring things back to even before the frame could end. In the third, Massimo Guerrera (1G, 1A) would squeeze one by to give Kuper the 3-2 lead with less than four minutes remaining. However, Jayden Goolab would have some fortune in close on a jam play, tying things back up and forcing overtime. In the extra frame, tensions would flare up after Malo Jacquier (37/40) made a massive 2-on-1 save to keep FEIA alive. Jacquier’s save would force a shootout. Elisei Melikian would strike first for FEIA after patiently making his way down the ice, wiring one past the glove of the goaltender. Kuper’s next two shooters would be absolutely robbed by Jacquier as he made two massive saves to steal the victory for FEIA in a game we won’t soon forget.

Balmoral Hall School (4/OT) vs Shawnigan Lake School (3) Women’s U18 Prep

Taylor Simpson would open the scoring early on for Shawnigan but Lucy Ring’s (1G, 1A) late one-timer from the point would even things up before the ice clean. Balmoral would carry some of that momentum into the second as Lydia Hill (1G, 1A) and Mya Rosenbaum (1G, 1A) would garner another two powerplay goals for the Blazers. However, Shawnigan would show some push back early in the third, erasing Balmoral’s two goal advantage and forcing OT. It didn’t take long in the extra frame as Jakiah Curle (2A) sprung Brannagh Rae on to a breakaway 42-seconds in, sealing this contest up in dramatic fashion. Rae now has two GWG this weekend with Balmoral as they improve to 3-0-0-0 to start the season.

STAR Hockey Academy (4) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (8) U17 Prep

STAR would get off to a solid start as Mason Olson (2G) scored the opening tally just over a minute into play. Jonas Seidel (1G, 1A) would get one back for OHA at the end of the frame, politely taking it end-to-end before roofing his first of the season. Olson would get STAR back ahead in the middle frame with his second. However, OHA would amp up the pressure in the late stages of the period. Riley Hansen (3G) and Seve Paladino (2G, 1A) would strike for three goals with just over three minutes remaining in the period. It was more of the same at the start of the third as Luke Couldwell opened the scoring 24-seconds in before OHA went on a four goal run before the clock could even strike the 15:00 mark. Hansen would pick up his hat-trick in the OHA flurry. Rhys Rucintango and Olan Ward would pick up a late pair for STAR but the damage was far too much to overcome.

Edge School (3/SO) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) U17

Alex Lopez got things rolling for the Buffaloes with the first’s lone goal. Edge would come back with vengeance in the second as Nixon Reid-Dinning and Colton Bischoff netted a pair to give Edge School the one goal advantage. Pilot Mound would tie things up after Caleb Calleja let one unleash from the top of the circles. A scoreless third would follow that eventually led to a shootout where after four rounds Jaret Otto would net the winner for Edge School. Vincent Arsenault (22/23) picked up the win between the pipes while PMHA goaltender Tyne Derkach provided an astounding 53 saves in the loss.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (3/SO) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) Women’s U18 Prep

OHA would take the early lead as Edan Crowe (1G, 1A) jammed home the opening goal. Teylor Crocker would strike back in the second tying things for SAHA. Things would get interesting in the third as Maria Facca went bar down for her first of the season, giving SAHA the lead. In the final minute of play, Silver Hopkings would spot a streaking Shea Warnick, springing her forward and allowing her to wire home the game tying goal. Yet again today, another shootout was needed to find our winner. In the third round, Sara Murdoch would slip one five hole while Avery Brunen went 3/3 to keep SAHA undefeated on the weekend.

STAR Hockey Academy (5) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U17

Being as much as 4-2 down didn’t deter STAR Hockey Academy in their matchup with Delta. Parker Lackey (1G, 1A) would put Delta ahead 4-2 halfway through the second. STAR would pick up some life after Edrick Himley got them back to within one. Less than a minute later, Killian Haggard (1G, 1A) would tie things up, making things 4-4 ahead of the final period. Halfway through the third, Matthew Atherley (2A) would spot Camden Freeman (1G, 2A) with a seeing eye pass to the slot where he would make no mistake burying the GWG on the powerplay. Brenden Sayles would pick up the win in goal for STAR, making 32 saves on the evening.

Shawnigan Lake School (4/OT) vs STAR Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep

In a rematch from Friday night, Shawnigan was looking to turn things around after falling 3-1 to STAR the night prior. Sean Strasser would open the scoring for STAR with a slick shot early on but was quickly matched by Shawnigan’s Carson Peet. Fast forward to the second and STAR would come up big with a pair of goals only a minute apart. Carter Como got things going on the powerplay while Cam Hoggan unleashed a wrister to double their lead. Just under a minute later on a powerplay of their own, Sean Murphy (1G, 3A) would get Shawnigan back into this contest with a post-tingling wrister from the point. In the third, Grant Paper would slip home the 3-3 goal which was enough to force overtime. Shawnigan would get a powerplay chance in OT where they would dominate possession. Eventually the puck would find its way to Maddoch Bond (2A) who would serve Darwin Ketch (1G, 1A) on a platter for the OT winner.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) vs North Shore Warriors (3) Women’s U18 Prep

RHA Winnipeg’s powerplay was firing on all cylinders to open this contest as Rowyn Street and Attica Sobering each netted goals on the man advantage in the first. Sophia Saurette (1G, 1A) would also find one for Winnipeg at even strength. Khya Swanson (2G) would get one back for North Shore early in the second but yet another PP goal from Winnipeg’s Chloe Anderton (1G, 1A) would restore their advantage. North Shore would make things close in the third as Brynn Makkreel and Swanson would snag another two, but they would come one shy of forcing the extra frame. Mars McHenry (41/44) came clutch for RHA Winnipeg once again, making another 40+ save effort to back her team to victory.

CIH Academy (CCM) (4) vs Ontario Hockey Academy Mavericks (CCM) (1) East

Following a scoreless first, Artem Osin would get CIH Academy on the board with a jam play in tight. Later in the frame, Frederyk Gosselin (1G, 1A) picked the near corner to extend CIH Academy’s lead to two. Connor Napash would add a third before the second intermission. Xavier Boileau would score a fantastic goal late in the third for the Mavericks but it would come too late to mount any comeback. Antoine Beniere would score with 9-seconds remaining to establish a 4-1 victory for CIH Academy.

Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (2) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (11) U17 Prep

Trent Porter (2G, 4A) commanded the scoresheet for PCHA in their big win over Wenatchee, collecting six points on the night. Daniel Trifunovic and Hunter McIntosh would score the lone goals for the Wild.

BWC Academy (5/OT) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) U18 Prep

Logan Henry came screeching on to the scene to smash home the opening goal of the game, taking out his teammate during the celebration. RHA Kelowna would strike back with a pair off the sticks of Alexander Sharman (1G, 1A) and Jack Leslie (1G, 2A) to regain some momentum. BWC Academy’s Kenzo Gibson (2G) would bring things back to even terms with a toe-drag release right before the end of the first. In the second, Declan Iacoviello would wire home the go ahead goal for BWC Academy but be quickly matched by RHA Kelowna’s Kaustav Pradeep. Team’s would once again trade goals in the third as Ethan Mah and Kaius Millan each picked up their team’s fourth goals. In overtime, Gibson would make a strong defensive play in his own end, springing Elias Papadatos on to a 2-on-1 with himself. Gibson would receive the pass and make no mistake, burying the OT winner in his season debut. Elias Mitrikas (41/45) would pick up the win between the pipes for BWC Academy.

Prairie Hockey Academy (3) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (4/SO) U18 Prep

Saturday’s tilt between Prairie and SAHA did not disappoint with heated exchanges happening at either end. Soren Hayden (2G, 1A) would open the scoring 38-seconds in for Prairie off a heat seeking one-timer. Medicine Hat Tigers prospect Hunter Saddleback would soon settle the scoring for SAHA on the powerplay, finishing off some splendid puck movement. Hayden would strike again soon after for Prairie to restore the lead. But Cohenn Rotar (2G) would get SAHA right back into things, making things 2-2 before the ice clean. A scoreless second would follow but would pick up again in the third as Kase Gellner swatted home a loose puck to once again give Prairie the edge. However, once again Rotar would come up clutch, batting away a loose puck to force overtime. SAHA would maintain possession on an overtime powerplay but were stunned by Gavin Hildebrand (44/47) making a huge close range save with the left pad. In the eventual shootout, once again Rotar would show off his skillset, dancing around Hildebrand for the lone goal in the shootout. Ben Meyer (33/36) would go 3/3 in the shootout and back SAHA to an exciting victory.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (1) Women’s U18 Prep
